Time

Surreal image of a clockwork crumbling in a meditating person's hands, symbolizing the exit from time into the eternal Now.

Time is the great illusion of the mind, a clockwork set in motion with a person’s first breath. In the writings of Yogi Isha, time appears as a boundary that separates us in space and creates the illusion of being apart from the Whole, from the Lord, from the One. We often perceive time as inevitability, watching the changing scenery through the “windows” of our perception, unaware that true life is hidden Within Ourselves.

Yet there are moments when this mechanism stops. This can happen during contemplation, in the sounds of the Shakti Orchestra, but most profoundly in deep meditation. When we pass through the “door,” the jaws of time release, and we arrive at the point of “Here and Now,” where past and future merge into a single Present. For one who has dissolved in the Ocean of Truth, time ceases to be linear. Time ceases to exist — it is merely the universal play of the mind. If one enters the interval where Time dissolves, everything is Here and Now.
