Yes, an ordinary human being does not remember past lives. Yet everything that existed in the past is reflected in the present. The past shapes not only character, behavior, and innate tendencies, but also arranges our interactions with others. That which was bound together in the past continues into the present. And only the Heart, which remembers everything, responds to our unexpected encounters—for Love is not merely an emotion. Love extends much further, reaching all the way to our origins. Love carries a message from our very Selves.
