Thoughtfully Sensual (Pensieroso sentimento)

Feelings and the flow of thoughts are conditioned by past karma. This karma from the past, like a seed that has fallen into the soil, must sprout, blossom, and bear fruit. Therefore, what was set in motion in the past finds its manifestation in the future. It is like the current of a river along which you drift toward the realization of an intention formed in the past. Every thought and every desire is like an arrow that has been released — it must reach its target and eventually come to rest. And when the arrow of past karma is already in flight, its trajectory cannot be changed, because that would create new karma, which would also have to be fulfilled. Thoughts, words, and feelings arise from people in countless numbers, and therefore karma seems endless. In this way, a person — like a river confined between two banks — moves within a current of inevitabilities. But when Love enters life, it is like the meeting of a river with the Ocean. There are no banks there — only boundless, complete freedom of manifested life.
