Pilot Babaji – The Bridge to the Other Side (Mahasamadhi)

Pilot Babaji: Maha Yogi's blessing, Samadhi, and the immortal Guru-disciple bond beyond the physical body

True Maha Yogis do not truly go anywhere. They may leave their bodies while remaining in samadhi and later return to them. They may return in another body, or create a different one, leaving the former behind if there is a need. They may also continue their work without a gross physical body at all. The paths of the Great Yogis are beyond logic and ordinary human perception. To understand their divine play, one must reach great spiritual heights.

Those who have conquered death and gone beyond the mind are no longer confined to a mortal physical form. When they leave the gross body, they do not truly depart. In such moments, ordinary human eyes see death, while the divine eye perceives something entirely different. This ability—to see what is hidden—may be innate, or it may be cultivated and revealed through spiritual practice and the power of intention or granted through blessing.

It is a great blessing to encounter a realized Master in one’s life. In truth, all we need is his touch—diksha. The Master’s touch contains the full potential and everything necessary for the disciple’s realization. The Master’s blessing is shaktipat (the transmission of energy), anugraha (grace), and kripa (mercy). The Master becomes a bridge for the disciple (shishya), a bridge that must be crossed to reach the other shore. But if the disciple builds a house on the bridge, or erects a temple there for worship, enlightenment will never come. By remaining on the bridge all the time, what the Master came into the disciple’s life for never happens.

When the Guru takes responsibility for a disciple, the Guru becomes bound. Yet the Guru longs for freedom. Thus, our realization and our freedom are his freedom—his dance of liberation. The Guru, therefore, is a bridge leading us to our own Self, but not the final destination of the journey.

The relationship between Guru and disciple is unfathomable, and only these two truly know what transpires between them. Such an immortal mystery is not limited by the mortal body. Their relationship exists beyond comprehension—beyond the point where the mind’s competence ends. When the Guru leaves the physical body, it is not an ending, but the beginning of a new chapter in the relationship between Guru and disciple. And in this chapter, anything can happen!

The mind perceives the Guru as a person. Pilot Baba, as a Guru, ceased long ago to be a person. He used this form only for certain purposes, but he is no longer what physical eyes can see. Earlier, Baba came to his disciples; now, disciples must go to him. And this, too, is possible. The Guru has already given all the necessary tools.

Whoever truly comes to Pilot Babaji with the intention of becoming his disciple and attaining the Highest will undoubtedly succeed, for Babaji’s blessing is always complete—one hundred percent. Babaji has never blessed otherwise.
