Akshara

Golden AUM over Akshara cosmic waters, embodying the eternal and imperishable source of Brahman.

Akshara is the Unchangeable, Imperishable, Eternal, Indestructible, Incorruptible, and Transcendent, and it is Brahman. Akshara can manifest as a symbol of God, or AUM, as the one that undergoes no change. Akshara symbolizes that primal foundation of being which remains motionless while the entire world is in constant motion.

Bhagavad Gita 3:15
You should know that all actions originate from Brahma, and Brahma has its beginning in the Imperishable Akshara. Therefore, the all-pervading Brahma constantly abides in yajna.

Bhagavad Gita 8:3
The Imperishable (Akshara) and Transcendent is Brahman. Its true eternal nature is Atman. Karma is the action and creation, the visarga, that gives beginning to beings.

Bhagavad Gita 8:11
Of the path that the knowers of the Vedas call Akshara (imperishable), upon which the self-controlled seekers, free from passion, enter, and which the brahmacharis desire—of that path I shall tell you.

Bhagavad Gita 8:21
Such the Unmanifested is called Akshara (Eternal, Imperishable); it is spoken of as the Highest Goal. He who reaches this Goal never returns; that is My Supreme Abode.

Bhagavad Gita 15:16
In this world, there are two purushas—the perishable (kshara) and the imperishable (akshara). The perishable is all beings, and the imperishable is called kutastha (the immovable and eternal).

The Waters of Akshara are the boundless and inexhaustible Waters of the Infinite. Manifesting as Cosmic Consciousness, they pour their essence upon us in streams, bestowing a sense of presence and the awareness of existence.
